Keke.. I'm still around.. I really feel enthusiastic writing about david's album! =p i muz say this compilation album is a treat to both david fans and new listeners to his music. His famous songs from 1997-2003 recollect memories of how i learn to fly and fall with his music all this while. And the new songs are as good as the previous works.

In the first cd, he takes us on a journey through the 'Las Vegas' view of chinese society with Shanghaied. I enjoyed fully to the 2-step beat and the cute phrases in Shanghai dialect. Someone said that the song is a little similar to Janet Jackson's Someone To Call My Lover, especially the guitar riff. I must admit, it's slightly similar, to the extent of like a blurred shadow. All i can say is great minds think alike. Both the composers might be thinking the same thing, who knows? The McD ad-song, I Like It, captured my heart with the soothing bossanova opening and then springs up to life with the rock chorus. I feel really happy whenever i tune in to that song. Further on, there is the song, Season of Loneliness. A contrast to the earlier one i mentioned. It's simple and yet i feel a complexity of mixed emotions, sad, lonely and the yearning for love. Another wonderful piece by david. The fourth new song in the album is Runaway, which seems to me it's a folk rock style. I always listen to this song whenever i'm in depression and felt like running away. It help of a lot, i don't know how, and of course i didn't run. The rest of the songs it this cd you have listen it out for yourself.

Like i said this album is a treat cos it includes a revised version of Close To You, different versions of Blue Moon and several other demos. Hehe, there's another a cappella song, another version of Blue Moon! You would know what i want to say.. i love a cappella! But i still prefer the piano one =p and it's funny to hear david crapping his very best into a lyric in the Airport demo. Oh, i like the 2nd half of the I Love You demo where david, andrew chu and a few others practise the Do I Do I song.. It's fun hearing them doing diff vocal parts and if you listen closely, you can hear a car honk and someone said something like: There's so many cars passing by. More or less like that a guess. Well, i look forward to his new album..

Thanks again dracolshian, wonderful review. Luv the ballad version of I Like It on the bonus cd, just amazed how David can rearranged a song so well.

Guess if u r new to David, this will be the album to get cos its contain old, new songs & demos so haf a well rounded idea of what his music is all abt. This album got good reviews & sales. And even though it was compilation, David was still nominated 4 lotsa awards & won a few cos the album is vry well produced & haf unusual concept 4 a chinese album of how music is conceived & produced.
