This is a gentle movie about falling in and out of love. Unlike most love movies, this one is full of realism. It doesn't has a beauiful girl falling in love with a goodlooking guy and despite obstacles they fall in love and live happily ever after. It's more real about people taking risks with their hearts and getting hurt but picking themselves up and starting all over again. Eun Soo is a radio dj who met a sound engineer Sang Woo while she was doing a radio program about recording sounds. Eun Soo was recently divorced and found herself drawn to the awkward Sang Woo perhaps from a rebound. Sang Woo fell head over heels in love with Eun Soo and because he was rather immature became very clingy. Eun Soo finding the love affair irksome, tried to get out of it but Sang Woo was much too attached to her. They finally parted after Sang Woo started to stalk Eun Soo and getting into trouble. The movie ended with Eun Soo halfheartedly trying to reconcile with Sang Woo when she realised too late that she missed him more than she ever thought she would. However Sang Woo had matured and didn't want to take any more risks with his heart. Sang Woo has already moved on while Eun Soo still wanted to look for a love that is already gone. This was made more poignant when Eun Soo turned up with a gift for Sang Woo's grandmother who has already passed away. This grandmother also featured in a quite amusing side story as she had dementia but could not forgot her dead husband. Sang Woo's family often had to go out and look for her when she escaped from the house to go to the railway station to wait for the return of her husband. This also became a metaphor for the pining of a lost love like Eun Soo who was unable to love Sang Woo until it was too late. The cinematography of the movie is quite wonderful with Sang Woo and Eun Soo going out into the countryside to record the natural sounds of wind, rain and folk songs. The soundtrack is also very good.
Is this a recent movie? It's quite a time ago, isn't it? I think I'd like to catch this movie...but...maybe only after the exams...hehe
