I'm doing a short review of tension's new compilation [story] album of their 5 new songs after hearing it.
1)Dreams - This is the best song out of their 5 new songs i like. A perfection accapella of tension's voice at the starting of this song. While you are still melting at tension's voice, surprisely the music has turn to rock. I like this suddenly twist of this music which is compose by andrew chu. This song is for the taiwan baseball theme and i think this song suit the theme because the lyrics is inspiring and it all talking about baseball, it is written by wu xiong. Never heard of this name but by the look at it. It seem the lyricst is from china. This is the song full of energy. Jimmy did a nice english + chinese rap in between, after the rap, it cut by their wonderful accapella again after that it resume to rock again.
2)Timeless - Quite disappointed at first because this is a cover song by a korean singer called sg wannabe and the song title named timeless too. I have heard from a singapore interview, tension said that because of the new company management, they have to cover this song and they have no choice. They hope to have more of their own composition and not cover other people's songs. I heard blame from other people blaming tension shouldn't cover the song but it's not tension's fault. But who cares, tension sing well in this song. If you do not know it is a cover song, you will think this song is nice. Rather cathy song.I have to say this MV by tension is nice and cute. You all gonna watch this MV!
3)Wandering with the moon - Please people don't mistaken this is a cover song just because this song is compose by a korean. Well, the composer lee sang-in specially compose this song for tension after hearing tension's song. I think the starting voice that wohoo~think is brian's voice. I think tension sing really good in this song especially some high part turning point.
4)Crush on you - hmm..nice song compose by josh chen. Actually i didn't really listen to this song but this song really expose to each of all the members voice. Every members did participate in their own part. They have many background harmony for this song and i think i can also hear david tao's voice in the background.
5)Same song - actually i look at the lyrics booklet this song is actually arranged by brian/josh chen. At first i thought it is arranged by david tao. Did i see wrongly?? Well, i have to say this accapella song is very difficult to sing because there is not much break in between the song and they don't have much time for breathing when they sing this song. Although it is a popular china folk song but it is nicely arranged in accapella.
