YES!!! COUNT ME IN!! and i do think that we should try to start an official david tao fanclub here in s'pore.. i think there'll be many benefits.. its much easier to get info frm his recording co. regarding stuff about him!! and also! if he does come to s'pore to perform in a concert or any other event e.g. autograph session, we could meet up and be there to give him a hundred and one percent support!!!! yes?? plus i think the record companies do give some privileges to fanclubs right??

so, anyone interested just post here k.. then we can see if its possible to set up one!! thanks to mecuria for suggesting this club thing, cos i think that someone as talented and famous as david does deserve a great grp of fans!!! i'm not saying that w/o this fanclub he wont have a g8 bunch of ppl supporting his music, but dont u guys think it'll be gd?? or mayb it can be a combined fanclub between m'sia n s'pore?? i dunno if there's sucha thing, but since fans here are frm both countries. reply here k!!!

i know there's such a thing as international fan club for some stars....fans usually pay an annual fee and the club will keep them posted about stuff. for local, i used to join 2 fan clubs many years back....the annual fee only about $10 a year for one of the clubs...that's more than 10 years ago huh...they will sent me photos every month and updates about the stars. another club more active...they organise outings and when the stars come to spore, they will organise for us to go together etc. that one is more active but its under a record company where u get posted about all the stars under the record label. actually all these clubs officially set up by the record company. for us i think we need to discuss more....best not to collect fees for a start.....i am sure DT would luv it for us to do something like that...FOC...to spread his luv and music to all......

zhaodi since u r more familiar with DTFC, can you help post this idea at their forum? maybe can connect a link back to this forum so they can leave their comments here? thanks alot....

Okie I post @ DTFC forum, hope get more response altho think most ppl r not 2 interested to get involved. I mean they support David & all, but they r mostly non active fans

i think we got to explain futher....many people may hav the notion that fan clubs does crazy things like follow the stars everywhere they go, stalk them at their hotel etc. most david fans are matured fans whom luv him for his music, not fans who will do crazy things like that. the purpose of us setting this fan club is to enable us to create a medium for us to liaise officially with the record company...to bring fans latest news of david which are accurate....otherwise it will jus be like wat happen previously...fans who are really concern gets really sad and disappointed cos u dunno wat is true anymore....i think poor zhaodi hav a difficult time trying to update us everytime about david but hav to surf from various sources which she is not even sure if its accurate sometimes....if we hav an official club, everything will come from one source....the record company....and you can be sure that its accurate information. i hope my explaination helps....if everything materialise we will probably need to get together and write officially to the record company. i look forward to that soon....

HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is Lynn... Thx Zhaodi for making the coolest blog and coolest David-Tao related webbie ever... anyhow, I wanna join the David Tao fan club s'pore too!! i once posted a proposal on davidtao.org to make David Tao t-shirts for fans in S'pore but the response was very weak... i'm still holding onto the design!!! maybe if this fan club comes about we can make our own s'pore david tao fan club t-shirt?? :)

but that will be a long way more i guess.. btw, how will we contact EMI?? is that how all other fanclubs (official ones) are started?? through the record sompany?? we should really try that out... yes, i really do think that david fans will not go stalking him and stuff.. hahha.. so fanatic.. like abit overboard rite.. then we'll become pests hhha. yea, i thnk one main prob is that pple think that joining fanclubs means meeting up alot and lots of commitment... so maybe we must discuss what is expected of each member.. haha. i'm afraid of the meet evry week type too!! lol.. so yup.. guess lots of plannig needs to done!! lets unite and do it welll!!

hey folks.....thanks for all your responses! i am so encouraged that you guys are also keen on this idea. initially thought that the response won't be good but now i feel so happy! i think first of all before we write to the record company, we need to established ourselves....the people in the committee, our roles and responsibilities etc. it would help too if we give some info about our profile and experience, how we can contribute to the club in order for us to convince them. we prob hav jus this once chance to write in so we got to plan how to do it right and to convince them....otherwise they won't entertain us in future. dracolshian can probably be our msian liaison. the rest of us in spore needs to decide among ourselves what we want to do and how we can contribute. my strength is in marketing so i can probably do more in this aspect and cos i had prior experience joining other clubs, i can share my thoughts about how they used to do it and how we can do ours better. i hope that by the time david comes to spore to promote his latest album, we can get ourselves together and show him our support....maybe by that time we may not be 'official' yet but it is at least a trial run for us to organise our first club activity to support him....

you can try but i think quite hard..sorry i'm not pouring cold water because there isn't a david's fanclub in taiwan not even other countries. but you can alway try.

hey nlayhua, thanks for the lead! i know that its going to be difficult but if we never put any effort to try we will never know isn't it? we probably need to write to his co in taiwan too...maybe what we can do is that we will cc the letter to various sources....hopefully we will get a response from one of them. let's all give it our best shot on this project....anyone with any lead pls contribute. thanks! its all for david!

Taiwan e-century which is part of EMI too. They have their own taiwan yahoo group and the taiwan's promoters and staff will tried to answer your question in this yahoo group maybe you can try to ask question here. The staff are friendly and efficient at answering your question if they want to answer it. because e-century's artistes are only tension, david and rock bang so they will mostly answer these artistes questions.

again totally agree with mercuria on her point abt establishing ourselves before we even try to contact the record company coz i think we'll need to justified ourselves on that as worthy for the official fanclub over here. And i'm sure once we've accomplished that, the rest will fall into place alot easier.

sorrieee can't type much, pardon me my brain is fried but i'll just briefly say my strength is on IT, no expert tho but i can come out wif simple html codes and database-driven pages, bascially i can help out on the website and those who're in these areas might wan to stand up for this too.

thanks again nlayhua and tangerina! i think to start with, we need to decide what are the roles in the committee and start to fill in the names of who to take what portfolio. in other words we need to come up with the organisation chart so that we can get ourselves going. the below is what i can think of. pls add in if you need there's more to include:

at least something is forming here!! yipee!! yea, so what other rows can there be?? mercuria, can u give a breif intro on what each person is supposed to do?? like marketing officers or secretary?? i'm not gd at IT, not much of a leader, so like webmasters etc and the chair people are out for me.. so how?? like there's not much for me to do?? can i be a full time supporter of david?? is there such a role? haha.. no.. i'm willing to help where possible really.. any job if i feel that i can at least do it up to expectation.. but there's still a long way to go.. man.. we must perservere k!!

hi missred....well i dun exactly know what the job responsibilities are cos this is also open to future discussions and it is very much up to the individual who takes up the portfolio what he/she thinks he/she will be able to contribute to the role and the club. for marketing, offhand, what i can think is that these will be the people who will organise events for meet-up, come up with the promotional materials, liaise with the record companies etc.....we need more marketing people cos i foresee that to be quite alot of work. for IT, probably they will take charge of updating the sites, solving any technical issues, emailing to the rest of the members on updates etc. we will still need to discuss further with the rest. we will definitely need a chairman and deputy chairman, jus like the management team in every company, they will lead the club, set the direction etc. the secretary will assist the chairman and deputy chairman on any administrative matters. treasurer will of course take care of the funds...no matter what we will need to set aside some funds for us to organise some activities....when we grow big enough....these funds can come from contributions or we can seek sponsorship from the record company, or even companies that david endorses their products.

talk about that, we probably need to add in a new role, Public Relations Officer - this person will be in charge of liaising with external parties....probably part of the marketing role can come here. first of all missred think of what your strength is.....you probably hold some posts in school for your ECA group right? so what do you do there? you may want to bring in this strength of yours to the club? no contribution is too small.....its all for david!
