11:55pm 2/3/2005 Onboard yet another flight back to Taipei from HK

Very tired, I am now, indeed. These past two days spent in HK were truly exhausting and I’m really quite worn out. I thought my cough from two weeks ago had gone away but it somehow returned two days ago. I’m not coughing as much but the tickle in my throat is quite annoying. What exacerbates it is that I have to constantly talk during interviews. Talking is tougher on your voice than singing. My eyes are very tired as well from all the flash photography and photo shoots. Having photos taken of you is very normal for a singer or celebrity but little do we realize how taxing it is on your eyes. You really notice it when you’re tired and every flash starts to make your eyes dry. Towards the end of the day, I could barely keep my eyes from blinking whenever the flash fired. On top of that, you have to smile and stay in whatever mood the shoot requires.

It’s about two weeks now since the album has released and I’m sure many of you already have had a chance to listen to it. The sales and response has been quite positive and overwhelming and I have all of you to thank. I’ve been doing many interviews and constantly talking about the album helps me understand the album even more as I delve deeper into it. I hope after having more time to listen to the album you all have your own perspectives on it as well. I find that it is an album that does take some time to digest.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner and I’m sure many of you are getting ready to celebrate with your friends and family. Perhaps there are also many of you that won’t be celebrating or will need to work. Regardless, I wish you all a wonderful vacation and holiday and that you are happy and safe during this season. Many of you will be on the road and I wish you all safe passage. I will get about ten days “vacation” though I’m sure I won’t be getting that much rest as I’m spending half of it with my parents in Shanghai and the other half in LA with my house, dog and cars. Travel time alone eats up about three days. I’m looking forward to getting away for a bit as I’m sure the change in scenery will help me reset to zero. My brain is quite fried and I desperately need some time to just rest and not think about anything. Right after the Lunar New Year, I’ll be heading back to Asia to continue with more promotion and work. The plane is about the land so I’ll stop here for now.

Talk more later, DT
