This drama is one of the nicest that i'd watched, it's really funny & the convos between the cast were very well scripted. This drama just started airing in Korea on 1 June and just ended its run about 2 weeks ago. Total 16 episodes.

I found 4 episodes of this drama with soft subs, think they will slowly upload other episodes?

all just upload not long ago, i have not download so not sure is it took very long to download and since it is with soft subs, anybody know what player must download in order to play the sub??

thanks layhua! now I recognise Kim Sun Ah from that Rain Newspaper Prank clip.. hehe.. I have found a site with megaupload links to all 16 eps.. but not sure if they've subs or not.. I use VLC media player to play files with soft subs.. I think I posted a link to it somewhere.. hmm..lemme go look for it.. but think you need to download the subs file separately right?

the sub are included in the megaupload i provided, they zip the drama and the subs together in rar. Thanks bloodbubble, i think i have impression you posted the VLC media player in full house thread, does that player can played any subs? how to use?? I wonder is episode 2 and 3 full version because 80MB something like very less or because they zip in rar?? thanks bloodbubble, does the megaupload you saw has any sub??

great memory layhua.. yup it was in Full House thread cos when I couldn't find ep 6 I downloaded the soft sub version so I downloaded the player also.. I think there are several players but the one I use is VLC. I'll post the link when I find it. It's very easy to use.. very much like Windows Media Player except there is an option for subtitles.. Just select that and click on the subs file. Only 80MB? That's pretty small? Perhaps the file is realy compressed? Maybe quality not so good?

thanks bloodbubble for the link of VLC player and i found another player called BS Player also can play the subs!! Haha..the episode 2 is really 80MB something, Beside the above link i provided can download. Yup it is low quality, quality is not that good. Here are all episodes in megaupload without subtitles and download subtitles seperatly.

episode 2 subtitles don't sync!!!!!! arrgh..i wonder where can i find the subtitles for that? I have watched episode 1 and it's quite funny .

i skip episode 2 watched episode 3 instead and the quality is real bad but still can watch. how come some part when they are talking about contract make me think of 'full house' and hyun bin played piano of '3 bears song'.

haha but episode 2 is real funny when sam soon taking her pig stuffed toy when she was drunk. There are quite a few of funny scenes as well as kissing scenes for this drama..

If Carrie Bradshaw of the "Sex and the City" represents a 30-something-girl in New York, and similarly Bridget Jones in London, here comes Seoul's heroine, with somewhat a boorish name, Kim Sam-soon.
"My Lovely Sam-soon," a weekday nighttime soap opera airing on MBC, has obviously become the talk of the town, with a hilarious but sympathetic character that eventually talks about a very (and again, very) unsolvable problem - heartache - in her 30s.

The story begins when educated-in-Paris Sam-soon returns to Korea and attempts to kill her ex-boyfriend who announced their official breakup on Christmas Eve. Sam-soon involuntarily falls into a typical after-life of a dumped girl, becoming jobless, fatter due to excessive drinking, and eventually penniless.

Jin-heon (Hyun Bin) starts to like Sam-soon (Kim Sun-ah) when he tastes her cake rather than just looking at her adorable smile.

However, far from being passive, this valiant lady soon starts a new life working in her counterpart Jin-heon's restaurant. Jin-heon, a selfish, wicked but irresistibly charming restaurant owner, played by rookie Hyun Bin, asks her to be his fake-lover to avoid his mom's pressure on marriage.

The two become closer but the prince's long-time love Hee-jin enters into the ongoing relationship. However, it is too late for Sam-soon, who declares her love for him.

Based on the romance novel of Korean author Ji Soo-hyun with the same title, plot and characters, the TV show has a lot more ingredients to spice up the scenes.

On the TV screen the heroine seems perkier, blunter and somehow more aggressive than the one depicted in the book. However, above anything else, the TV-version gratifies viewers by filling up with incisive scenes. The unprecedented popularity stems from this.

"This is my story," says Kim So-youn, an enthusiastic fan of Sam-soon. She recalls those miserable experiences and indescribable anguish of being a single woman in Korea.

Kim says that women viewers easily project themselves to Sam-soon and finally are relieved from all those bad, unforgiving moments by watching her "reviling those bastards and kicking their ass."

The viewing rate of the drama is roaring near 40 percent, thanks to "S-diary" star Kim Sun-ah, who plays Sam-soon. The actress, returning to TV screen after four years, is being highly praised for her spirited performance, transforming herself into an absolute Sam-soon version, a fat and sexless woman at 30, an age deadline for women who are anxious about getting married. She reportedly gained 7 kilograms just before the shooting to be authentic as the real Sam-soon can look.

The soap is often compared with "Lovers in Paris" which aired on SBS last year, whose story is, once again, about a Prince Charming rescuing a plain girl in trouble. Kang Tae-young, played by Kim Jeong-eun, made all kinds of embarrassing or silly mistakes in the course of nabbing her true love, Han Ki-ju.

Although Sam-soon is also bounded by this cheesy plot, drama critics say the Cinderella story has been transformed, or perhaps progressed. Now the lady reveals her sexual desire, marking the rise of Korean women.

"Sam-soon complains about her sexless life, saying that she's been starved by men's touch. She breaks the rule that a man has to kiss a girl first. She voluntarily made the first kiss to her counterpart, Jin-heon. This apparently reveals her sexual desire in the most natural way and depicts a turning point for Korean women who now have started to publicize their forbidden desire," said Shin Joo-jin, a drama critic.

Although "My Lovely Sam-soon" is an unabashedly typical Cinderella story, however, it focuses more on the heroine's desire and passion devoted to her career in patisserie. Remember how Jin-heon started to like Sam-soon (even though it is hard to notice)? It was when he acknowledges her talent, passion and devotion to her dream while tasting Sam-soon's cake, rather than just looking at her adorable smile.

The MBC drama "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" is recording viewer ratings of 37.7 percent, the highest for a drama this year, AGB Nielsen Media Research said Thursday. The program recorded the same ratings in a survey by TNS Media Korea, topping the year's previous record of 36.2 percent set by KBS weekend drama "Letters to the Parents."
The secret to the success of "Kim Sam-soon" is the blunt dialogue and the popularity with women, who drive ratings, of a protagonist many of them can sympathize with.

Viewers were glued to their sets for Wednesday's episode watching Sam-soon's heartbreak over Hyun Jin-heon (played by actor Hyun Bin), whose love for Yoo Hee-jin (played by actress Chung Ryeo-won) rekindled when he discovered she had left his side to battle cancer.
The drama enjoyed ratings of over 20 percent from the start, giving MBC, which had been in the doldrums, a new lease of life while producing some new stars.

Hyun Bin, who had seen mixed reviews in the past, has grown extremely popular as he nails his role as Jin-heon, a man feeling the pain of a love unlike any other, while Korean-American actor-model Daniel Henney has made the leap to stardom with his sculpted good looks.

hmm..normally those with hard subs and better quality are in clubbox and those with low quality don't have hard subs only soft subs, maybe this drama is still quite new, just ended 1 month ago i think? hmm..so you have asked someone to fixed your modem? hmm..i change the timing for the subs in BS player, not tedious but very troublesome, have to manual correction the timing every episodes i watched maybe low quality does not sync accurately?

the soft subs work best with those 700MB files, not those of lower quality. 350MB files should still work but definitely not those any lower.

NMIKSS is now on prohibit list of nowcom/clubbox, so all clubbox owners must remove it from their clubboxes... YYCAF clubbox has them in chinese hardsub.

btw i use vobsub to play videos with soft subs, they playback in windows media player.

i believe the drama garnered more than 50% viewership towards the end of the show it's really good, one of the best dramas i'd seen after Wonderful Life & Full House.

thanks lunasy, is vobsub part of BS player? What is the difference? just that low quality need to manual correct the timing and i wonder can BS player save the timing that i have corrected because if i wanted to see that episode again have to manual correct it again. and i have a hard times manual correct 2nd episode because they never record the front part. I have to (+) so many times to get the subtitles to go in front..haha , other episodes like 150MB will not be so tiring just (-) once will do, just have to depend the wordings..

yeah i was so surprising and it's like megaupload is getting fast recently. For 150MB i just need to download like 2 hours and for 55MB, just need less than 1 hour!!!! Yipee!!! I have download till episode 11 but now only watched till episode 8. Hyun bin and sam soon's ex(forgot his name but feel like slapping this guy..lol) fight together and samsoon and chae ri(not sure if got her name right) are fighting together too, quite funny and the conversation between sam soon and henry is the most funniest!! It's like chicken and duck, both don't understand each other.

so far i'd only downloaded 700mb files a day after the drama is aired in korea and then wait a few days for the chinese hardsubbed episodes from YYCAF team, hvn't d/l any with soft subs so never have to retime the subs... hehe... so can't advise here... i'd only tried soft subs with avi movies (HQ) and they work fine, hehe
