All david fans have waited 3 years and 8 months for this album. And finally the 3rd album has made the wait worth while. Black Tangerine is a conceptual album that truly reflects david's root and passion for rock music. And the inspiration to shape this album didn't come the easy way. David experienced different levels of frustration and depression and even isolated himself. Remember 9/11? David was affected by it, not physically but through emotion and spiritual mind.

Thus, the birth of Black Tangerine, the title song. There is also Dear God. To listen to both of the songs is like seeing david expressing himself to the fullest. Real rocking! Let's Fall In Love is er.. bold, but i like the fast rhythm it presents. Angel, Butterfly, and 22 are some of the songs i find smooth and enjoyable. The thought of the comical lyric in Kung Pau Chicken makes me laugh heartily as it tries to portray a simple country boy who tries to win a girl's heart. Like he always do, david takes the challenge to modernize Teresa Teng's famous hit song into Moon Over My Heart, but this time it's a whole new rendition. I prefer david's version but my father frowns and says the song is spoilt. Well, it's the generation gap again.. Lullaby reminds me of my childhood. It doesn't seem like a lullaby to me at first, but i realised anything could be sung to put a child to sleep as long as the love and warmth are there to comfort. Father sang for me too and i can still hear the melody in my head.. Ah.. The times that has passed.. The future to look forward too..

This 3rd album of his is a breakthrough for me.. Now i understand the power of music to change the world and bring peace.. David's not the only peace ambassador out there, we are too.. As long as we believe that there's a hope for peace.. If only the others could see...
